“I can honestly say I’ve never experienced care like this before. From the first session, I felt like they really saw me and wanted to understand what was going on beneath the surface. They don’t just focus on symptoms—they look at how the brain, body, and even gut health all connect, which made so much sense once I started seeing changes.” – R.U.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially when you have been carrying something for a long time or aren’t quite sure where to begin. You may know that something needs to change but feel stuck in the same patterns. You may be overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, grief, past experiences, or emotions that are difficult to understand or manage. Or maybe the ways you have learned to cope are no longer working for you.
You don’t have to walk into therapy knowing exactly what to say or what you need.
I work with adults 18 and older who are navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief and loss, trauma and difficult life experiences, substance use, emotional overwhelm, and periods of feeling disconnected or stuck. Some clients come to therapy because of something specific that has happened, while others simply know that they don’t feel like themselves and want a space to begin understanding why.
Wherever you’re starting from, we can begin there.
My style as a therapist is relaxed, down-to-earth, conversational, and client-led. I don’t believe therapy needs to feel overly formal or clinical to be meaningful. I want our sessions to be a place where you can show up as you are—even when you’re unsure, uncomfortable, frustrated, or don’t have the words for what you’re experiencing.
Being client-led doesn’t mean I’ll simply sit back and expect you to figure everything out on your own. Therapy is collaborative. I’ll meet you where you are, help you slow things down when needed, ask questions, offer another perspective, and compassionately challenge you when I notice patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
I also understand that this work can be hard. There may be times when therapy brings us toward experiences, emotions, or parts of yourself that you have spent a long time avoiding or protecting. My role isn’t to push you through those moments, but to support you in approaching them at a pace that respects you and your individual process.
I believe therapy should be individualized to the person sitting in front of me. Rather than relying on one approach, I draw from EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS)/parts work, mind-body awareness, emotional regulation, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), and CBT strategies when helpful.
Much of my work focuses on helping you better understand the connection between your experiences, emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and what is happening in your body. Sometimes we can understand something logically and still feel stuck in the same emotional or physical response. Together, we can slow things down, become curious about those patterns, and explore what may be underneath them.
When appropriate, approaches such as EMDR can support the processing of distressing experiences that continue to affect you in the present, while parts work can help you better understand the different ways you have learned to protect and respond to difficult experiences. KAP may also be incorporated when clinically appropriate, with an emphasis on preparation, therapeutic support, and integration.
Ultimately, the approach we use is guided by your needs, your goals, and where you are in your process.
In addition to my work as a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have specialized training and experience in trauma-focused and psychedelic-assisted approaches to therapy. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and provide Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) as part of my clinical work.
I also serve as a Lead Therapist in CYBIN-sponsored clinical research studying CYB003 as an adjunctive treatment for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). In this role, I support participants through the therapeutic components of psychedelic-assisted clinical research, including preparation, dosing sessions, and integration.
My involvement in this research has deepened my experience supporting individuals through non-ordinary states of consciousness while maintaining an emphasis on safety, ethical care, individual pacing, and respect for each person’s experience.
Across both my clinical and research work, I remain committed to continued learning and to thoughtfully integrating approaches that consider the whole person—mind, body, emotions, experiences, and relationships.
My connection to this work is also personal. Having experienced my own healing journey, I understand what it can be like to sit on the other side of the couch.
Those experiences are part of what led me toward this profession and continue to shape the respect I have for the courage and vulnerability therapy can require. I don’t take lightly what it means for someone to trust me with parts of their story that may be painful, complicated, or difficult to put into words.
I believe people deserve a therapeutic space where they can feel supported without judgment while still being encouraged to look honestly at themselves, their experiences, and the patterns they want to better understand.
My journey to becoming a counselor was driven by a deep desire to help others, rooted in my own family experiences. Growing up, I saw how emotional struggles can impact individuals and families, and I wanted to be a source of support for those facing similar challenges. These experiences inspired me to pursue counseling, where I could create a safe, compassionate space for others to heal and grow. It’s truly rewarding to be able to guide individuals toward finding their strength and moving forward with confidence.
Grounding skills are a powerful technique I’m passionate about teaching. They help individuals stay present and calm during stressful moments, reducing anxiety and regaining control. It’s a simple yet effective tool that can truly make a difference.
I have two that are both my number ones and they are Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway by Susan Jeffers and Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents by Lindsay Gibson. These were the first two books that I read going into my first semester in my graduate program and I think these both hit home for a lot of clients.
My ideal client is someone who is willing and wanting to make positive changes in their life.
I’m inspired to help others because of the profound impact that support and understanding can have on a person’s life. Seeing individuals grow, heal, and find strength through difficult times is what drives my passion for counseling.
I prioritize self-care by staying aware of how I’m feeling and making time to check in with myself. I practice breathing techniques to stay grounded and manage stress. Additionally, I enjoy watching reality TV as a way to unwind and disconnect, giving myself a mental break and something lighthearted to enjoy when I am at home.
Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan. I have these artists on repeat as of now. Seems like it would be a fun dinner party!
I strongly relate to holistic approaches in counseling because I believe in addressing the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. By considering all aspects of an individual’s well-being, we can work together to create a more balanced and fulfilling life. This approach allows for deeper healing and growth, recognizing that true wellness involves nurturing emotional, mental, and physical health.
I am obsessed with coffee and love finding local coffee shops, I love traveling and try to book a getaway every 3 months, and I have a fully blind cat that had her eyes removed at 6 months old, but she is the coolest cat ever!
