Hello there! I am so excited you have started to navigate through various places when considering therapy. I aim to advocate for, serve, guide, and empower individuals, families, and couples to discover healthier ways of living. Together, we will work to understand and address any challenges you may be facing and help you to achieve your goals. I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you in your progress.

How I work

I believe life is lived to the fullest when we process our past pain or current difficulties, so we can grow individually and remain in healthy, cohesive friendships and relationships. When starting my personal therapy journey, there were three non-negotiable expectations that had to be met with a clinician who creates a safe space, holds me accountable and has humor when appropriate. These non-negotiables from my personal story have become a staple in the ways I now practice as a clinician. I use an integrative approach with all clients, particularly with Individuals, I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-focused therapeutic models with my clients. I enjoy using Gottman and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) when working with couples. Integrating these modalities while building a strong therapeutic alliance aid in the process of their current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and develop practical solutions to their presenting concerns.

SPOTLIGHT

In high school, I learned more about my spiritual gifts of Exhortation, Discernment and Shepherding which heavily align with the morals and character in the therapy field. Once I started to learn more about my purpose, I was drawn into psychology and counseling and knew this was the place for me.
I started my personal counseling journey in 2020, and it has become an integral part of my self-care. I have learned saying “no” in a thoughtful way has been empowering. I find myself protecting my peace and no longer juggling so many things on my plate, allowing me to be fully committed to what I am passionate about.
Atomic Habits, I believe there is a lot of freedom within structure when focus on today to reach our goals tomorrow.
My ideal client is motivated to make positive changes in their life and is open to the therapeutic process. They possess a willingness to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and to work through any challenges or obstacles that may be preventing them from reaching their full potential.
Self-care looks different for me every day, but usually I find myself exercising, listening to podcasts, reading, playing with my dogs, watching sports and spending time with my family and friends.
Nick Saban, Taylor Swift and Dr. Daniel Amen. Nick Saban (roll tide!) was named in the Top 50 World’s Greatest Leaders; I would love to hear his insight on his teachable moments, disciplined mindset, and how he sets and achieves goals. I chose Taylor Swift not only because I’ve been a Swiftie since 2008 but because she is an empowered woman who is relatable, versatile, extremely talented, and an advocate for many different causes. Finally, Dr. Daniel Amen because he is a firm believer in a holistic approach to wellness and has positively impacted the changes I have made to my physical and mental health.
Recognize that an individual’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being are interrelated and affect each other. In incorporating holistic practices into my sessions, I encourage specific techniques such as mindfulness meditation, deep breathing, and progressive muscle relaxation. I also provide education and guidance on nutrition, exercise, and other lifestyle factors that can impact mental health.
I am the middle child of 3 girls (whew).
