Jackie Vittitoe

“I can honestly say I’ve never experienced care like this before. From the first session, I felt like they really saw me and wanted to understand what was going on beneath the surface. They don’t just focus on symptoms—they look at how the brain, body, and even gut health all connect, which made so much sense once I started seeing changes.” – R.U.

Who I Help & How We Work Together

I welcome clients of all ages and backgrounds into my practice. I deeply honor that every stage of life comes with its own distinct story, and I respect each individual’s unique journey. Life can feel overwhelming when past trauma, substance use, depression, ADHD, or challenges setting healthy boundaries disrupt your sense of internal balance. You might be navigating intense anxiety, feeling burned out from people-pleasing, struggling to hold firm boundaries, or feeling disconnected from your body.

Working with me feels compassionate, collaborative, and entirely individualized. My path into this field was shaped not only by clinical training, but by my own lived experience navigating life’s complexities. I know firsthand how transformative it is to feel truly supported, and I bring that deep empathy, humility, and hope into every session. My goal is to equip you with a comprehensive toolkit, so you feel fully empowered to navigate life’s challenges on your own. Together, we will create a supportive environment where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and respected at your own pace.

My Integrative, Whole-Person Approach

At Serenity Wellness and Counseling Center, I offer a whole-person, mind-body approach to healing. I enjoy working with clients who are seeking holistic tools that go beyond reliance on medication alone—while maintaining a balanced, zero-shame perspective on medication when it serves as a helpful part of your care.

As a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), and Registered Yoga Instructor, I bridge clinical expertise with body-centered awareness. I love using breathwork to explore how different states of the nervous system function, helping you understand how stress, boundary setting, and sensory overwhelm show up physically. My practice integrates:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Helping you make space for difficult emotions, stay grounded in the present, and align your choices with your core values.
  • Boundary Work & Self-Advocacy: Learning to identify your needs, communicate limits clearly, and hold healthy boundaries without guilt.
  • Mind-Body & Somatic Integration: Utilizing breath, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation to reconnect mind and body.
  • Evidence-Based Modalities: Blending CBT, DBT principles, executive functioning support, and EMDR-informed strategies with direct clinical advocacy and high ethical standards.

Key Focus Areas

  • Lifespan Care & Individualized Healing: Supporting children, teens, adults, and older adults through life’s transitions.
  • Healthy Boundaries & Relationships: Developing practical tools to set and maintain boundaries, manage boundary guilt, and build balanced, authentic connections.
  • Trauma & Nervous System Regulation: Processing painful past experiences through somatic awareness, breathwork, ACT, and EMDR-informed strategies.
  • Depression, Anxiety & Mood Support: Cultivating self-compassion, hope, and practical coping tools for managing daily burnout, anxiety, and low mood.
  • ADHD & Neurodivergent-Affirming Care: Building tailored executive functioning tools, managing sensory overwhelm, and honoring your brain’s unique way of operating.
  • Substance Use & Addiction Recovery: Compassionate, non-judgmental guidance for individuals navigating co-occurring challenges or long-term recovery goals.
  • Body Image & Self-Compassion: Rebuilding a gentle, supportive relationship with movement, self-worth, and body awareness through mindfulness and somatic practices.

Therapy in Cypress, Texas & Greater Houston

Whether you are searching for holistic therapy in Cypress, Texas, or looking for trauma-informed counseling for boundary setting, depression, ADHD, or anxiety in the Greater Houston area, I am here to walk alongside you.

Ready to Begin?

Taking the first step toward therapy is a profound act of courage, empowerment, and self-advocacy. When you are ready, I invite you to reach out to our team to schedule an initial consultation—a safe, grounded space where you can pause, breathe, and arrive exactly as you are. Together, we will honor where you have been, explore your goals at your own pace, and uncover the practical tools you need to build a deeply aligned, self-directed life. I look forward to holding space for you as you step into your power and reconnect with your innate strength, wisdom, and wholeness.

You do not need to have all the answers before beginning. You also do not need to have your thoughts perfectly organized or know exactly what you want to change. Part of the therapeutic process is taking time to understand what you are feeling, identify what is causing distress, and determine what healing and growth may look like for you.

During our first sessions, we will begin by talking about what brought you to therapy, what you have been experiencing, and what you hope may become different. We will move at a pace that feels supportive while gradually identifying the goals and areas you would like to address.

Therapy is not about becoming a completely different person. It is often about understanding yourself more deeply, learning to respond to challenges in healthier ways, and becoming more connected to your needs, values, and relationships.

Sometimes the hardest part is simply reaching out. My goal is to walk alongside you with empathy, honesty, and encouragement as you move toward greater healing, healthier relationships, and a deeper understanding of yourself.

Getting to Know Me: A Personal Spotlight

I became a counselor after walking my own personal healing journey through grief, trauma, mental health struggles, recovery, and complex relational dynamics. Navigating those seasons showed me how transformative it is to feel truly seen and supported. That experience sparked a deep passion within me to bridge raw, human empathy with professional clinical care so I can walk alongside others as they find their own path forward.

My ideal clients aren’t defined by a specific diagnosis or age—they are simply individuals who are open to self-exploration and curious about their own growth. I love working with people who are ready to dive in, even if the process feels brand new, vulnerable, or a little uncomfortable at first.

I would teach everyone how to give themselves unconditional permission and space to simply sit with their emotions. So often we label uncomfortable feelings as “bad” or try to rush past them, but learning to drop into the body and meet our feelings with curiosity allows them to become gentle guides toward what we truly need.

Facing Codependency by Pia Mellody. It is an incredible, eye-opening resource that offers compassionate insights into family dynamics, healthy communication, and the life-changing art of setting clear, loving boundaries.

As a Registered Yoga Instructor, mind-body connection is central to everything I do. In our sessions, I bring an understanding of how the nervous system carries stress and trauma, using targeted breathwork and somatic tools to help you transition out of high-stress “fight-or-flight” (sympathetic) states and into gentle “rest-and-digest” (parasympathetic) states where real healing and sustainable balance can happen.

For me, self-care is all about coming back home to myself. I nurture my well-being by stepping onto my yoga mat, spending peaceful time outdoors surrounded by nature, and soaking up unhurried moments with my dogs.

My guest of honor would without a doubt be my late aunt. She was a true mother figure to me, and holding a seat for her memory and deep warmth is something I cherish dearly.

  • I dove headfirst into my yoga journey: Before ever taking a formal studio class, I listened to my intuition and traveled to Costa Rica for a one-month immersive teacher training.
  • I tested my grit on the water: I competed in an extreme canoe marathon, relying heavily on deep breathwork and nervous system regulation to stay grounded and calm through 230 miles of river challenges.
  • I chose a path of clarity early on: Making the life-changing decision to get sober in my early 20s was one of the most empowering choices of my life, and it continues to anchor my personal and professional values every single day.
